Multiple Vulnerabilities in QTS, QuTS hero, QuTScloud, myQNAPcloud, and myQNAPcloud Link (PWN2OWN 2023)

Summary

Multiple vulnerabilities have been reported to affect certain QNAP operating system and application versions:

• CVE-2024-21899: If exploited, the improper authentication vulnerability could allow users to compromise the security of the system via a network.
• CVE-2024-21900: If exploited, the injection vulnerability could allow authenticated users to execute commands via a network.
• CVE-2024-21901: If exploited, the SQL injection vulnerability could allow authenticated administrators to inject malicious code via a network.
• CVE-2024-27124: If exploited, the OS command injection vulnerability could allow users to execute commands via a network.
• CVE-2024-32764: If exploited, the missing authentication for critical function vulnerability could allow unprivileged users to gain access to and execute certain functions via a network.
• CVE-2024-32766: If exploited, the OS command injection vulnerability could allow users to execute commands via a network.

Updating QTS, QuTS hero, or QuTScloud

1. Log in to QTS, QuTS hero, or QuTScloud as an administrator.
2. Go to Control Panel > System > Firmware Update.
3. Under Live Update, click Check for Update.
   The system downloads and installs the latest available update.

Tip: You can also download the update from the QNAP website. Go to Support > Download Center and then perform a manual update for your specific device.

Updating myQNAPcloud

1. Log on to QTS, QuTS hero, or QuTScloud as an administrator.
2. Open App Center and then click .
   A search box appears.
3. Type "myQNAPcloud" and then press ENTER.
   myQNAPcloud appears in the search results.
4. Click Update.
   A confirmation message appears.
   Note: The Update button is not available if your myQNAPcloud is already up to date.
5. Click OK.
   The system updates the application.

Updating myQNAPcloud Link

1. Log on to QTS, QuTS hero, or QuTScloud as an administrator.
2. Open App Center and then click .
   A search box appears.
3. Type "myQNAPcloud Link" and then press ENTER.
   myQNAPcloud Link appears in the search results.
4. Click Update.
   A confirmation message appears.
   Note: The Update button is not available if your myQNAPcloud Link is already up to date.
5. Click OK.
   The system updates the application.
